I can't read English, can I still use your App?
PolyScript lets you choose your working language, so you can see translations in just as
many languages as you can learn in!
I can't seem to get a word right, what am I doing wrong?
The characters you write are checked with a digital ink recognition model. In order to
enforce correct technique it is sensitive to both stroke order and direction on purpose.
In other words if you write Arabic left to right or Chinese down to up even if it
matches exactly it may not recognize. If that still doesn't help, please report as a bug
to us and we will take a look
There is a feature I think would be really great for PolyScript, how can I request
it?
You can use the email link or contact form to let us know your feedback, or leave a
review on Play or App Stores!
What is the inspiration and goals for PolyScript?
As lifelong lovers of language, we wanted to build an app that embraced the largest
variety of languages possible from Ancient Greek to Khmer and beyond, while focusing on
one of the trickiest aspects of new language acquisition, reading in a foreign script.
PolyScript trains your muscle memory, recall, and pronunciation and with consistent use
you will be able to bridge the gap between a beginning learner of a new script and
someone able to begin reading simple narratives and texts.
What are some of the upcoming features in the works?
Our goal was to start with a minimalist yet beautiful design, meanwhile we have already
begun development of new features like Spaced Repetition, Content Generation with AI,
Community Sharing, and Gamification.
What distinguishes PolyScript from other language learning apps?
PolyScript is more comprehensive in terms of total languages supported. Studies have also
shown that tasks like handwriting are much better at memorizing new vocab than multiple
choice or drag-and-drop type questions.
Do I need to buy a stylus for this app or can I use my fingers?
PolyScript is designed to work with either stylus or fingers. We recommend stylus for the
most realistic writing experience, but whatever works for you!
Do I need to trace directly over the prompt or can I write anywhere on the canvas?
You can write anywhere, sometimes you might need to trace and later find freehand is more
rewarding
All I see are A,B,C's is there anything else the app can do?
Yes! We have both word and letter mode. Depending on the language and your level, it
might make more sense to practice one or the other or both
